Music Poster Analysis
This poster has 4 close up images of each member of the band showing what they do I think this makes the pictures look good as they are not staged and posed for they just look natural- these images look as if they have been taken from a gig they have done which is relevant to the poster as they are advertising their next gig. Even though this is very simple I think the colour distortion makes it look good as I don’t think it would have looked as good if it was just a normal picture of them. Their own vibrant individual colour makes the poster stand out to viewers. The different sizes of images also make this poster original and quirky yet it appears so simple. When looking at this poster you are instantly drawn to the red image of the main guy in the band this highlights his significance in the band as he has been given the bigger and bolder picture. The writing is the same throughout for ‘Artic Monkeys at the Apollo’, this gets it straight to the point for what the poster is about. The credits are in smaller writing as they are less important. The mise en scene is appropriate for this band as it shows their casual style and them playing their instruments which is a typical code and convention of an indie band along with what they are wearing and their image- long hair, polo shirts, t-shirts. Overall I like the idea of the bright colours on the images as I think this is a main way to make a poster stand out and that is what I want to achieve when making my poster.
