Props, Costume, Setting, Hair and Makeup

                                                                         Props
When doing our research and what we already had knowledge of we knew that the props that were needed in an ‘Indie’ music video were instruments including: guitar, drums, microphone and bass. These altogether came up frequently when we did our research and are also necessary when doing a band performance, I think these things highlight and demonstrate what genre our music video is. Another thing which is commonly used in music videos are: Televisions, mobiles and ipod’s these are used to portray a message in a form rather than speech; this also illustrates media conventions as these are media products. We are going to do this whilst we are sitting in the car with the title of the band coming up on the Radio- we have not seen this done before however we have seen all the things listed above before. So we hope this comes across unique and different rather than the others which would just come across as repeated if we used them.

Costume
From looking at many ‘Indie’ music videos we gained knowledge of what the actors should wear when taking place in our music videos; the style of most people in the bands were very casual and in no way dressed up. It came across that the style was ruffled/long hair, polo shirt, cardigans, jeans, trainers and even hooded tops. We think this is important to make sure the style and genre fit as if it contrasts it could lead to people thinking it was a totally different to what we intended. We are going to use this style as it exactly fits with what we are trying to put across and is very much indie which is what are genre is. And we know from research that the style fits in.

Hair and Make up
These again are natural and causal and not in any way done up as from everything we have learnt we have knowledge that the ‘Indie’ style is casual. So there will be no drastic changes involved in this.

Setting
I think the setting is a big involvement when filming for the music video, as if the setting has no subject to what we are trying to illustrate it may make something come across totally different e.g. not how we want it to and not work well. We have chosen to film ours at the quarry, café, kitchen and also in Earsdon. We feel these go well with what our storyline is trying to portray since it is based around a relationship and are relevant to what we are trying to put across- which is a relationship going from love, betrayal and then to finish it hate. Choosing to film at Earsdon we thought would be a unique idea and not what you would expect, and would definatly fit in with our indie genre. Here are some photos:
